LIFE CHAIN 1 OCTOBER
2011

With 197 people attending the Life-Chain, the considered
the turn-out to be reasonably good showing an increase in numbers and enthusiasm. Other
churches and organisations also attended and addressed the group at the end of the
function. Motorists, and there were many in the Gateway shopping mall area, were mostly
very positive as they hooted and waved their support. Besides the posters (most of the
wording is visibile in these thumbnail photos which you can click on to see the full size)
there were many pamphlets handed out to motorists and people boarding taxis.
Bloemfontein report:
We had a Life Chain in Bloemfontein on
Saturday 08 October 2011. There were not many
who took part - only 12 of us, but we experienced the
Lord's blessing and leading.
Two
of us felt that we should stand at a particular entrance to the Shopping Mall with our Pro-Life signs and tracts. A
taxi driver approached me (Gwen) later and
told me that in case we thought that what we
were doing did not have any effect, he wanted to advise us
that our Life Chain had saved at least one life: His daughter had phoned him just before we had arrived telling him
that she had found out the previous day that
she was pregnant. She asked her father whether
she should have an abortion. He said he'd think about it and
phone back after 10 minutes. He said his youngest child is finishing college this year and he was looking forward to not
having to pay for education and schooling any
more - now the prospect of having to take on
the financial responsibility for another child. He said he prayed and asked God for a sign - whether his daughter
should go for an abortion or not. Just after
praying, we walked past him with our signs against
abortion. He said he phoned his daughter and said: 'We'll keep the child.''

Pre-info: The 1st
Sunday of October every year is commemorated as International Life Chain
Sunday.. All over the world and in a number of venues in South Africa, Christians
for Truth commemorate this day.
We all have the same format i.e. a PRO LIFE

meters apart.
We supply placards.
Marshalls are provided and they must be obeyed at all
times. Children must be well supervised by their parents.
This year we will be standing along Umhlanga Rocks
drive from 2 - 3.30pm. We will meet at the park
in Centenary Road at 1.30pm, and proceed from there and finish at 3.30pm. We
will be standing from Centenary Road to McDonalds in Umhlanga.
It is a prayerful, polite and peaceful demonstration.
